BEST OF 2024: Biggest Morning Tea at Cooee Lodge

Cooee Lodge hosted its annual Biggest Morning Tea for staff, residents, and their families.

On Monday, May 14, Cooee Lodge hosted its annual Biggest Morning Tea for staff, residents, and their families. A collection of home baked cakes, sweet slices, and breads was provided to those attending the event. Tea and coffee were also available.

Managed throughout the day by several people was a donated desk selling a variety of hand baked goods by Krystal Lamb. $515.60 was raised on the day. A further $650 was raised online, for a total of $1165.60.

As is tradition, a judging panel was held towards the end of the event. Five dishes were judged on quality and presentation. A ‘guess the amount of teacups in the photo’ competition was also held, the winner being Debbie Mallison; the amount was 65, and she guessed 64.

“I’d like to thank all our local donors,” said event organizer Krystal Lamb. “[I’d also] like to thank the residents that helped prepare the day before the morning tea, [and] thanks to our barbecue cooker Darren Holland. Also a special thank you to our biggest [donator] Gregory Bennet, who gave $530.”
