Ring in the New Year racing
Bringing in the New Year as best as they know, the Gilgandra Jockey Club are holding their annual two-day race carnival very soon!

Day one, to be held on New Year’s Eve, is expected to be the bigger of the two days. Six races are set to go ahead, with live music, a jumping castle, and a bar open until the day wraps up. Major sponsor is Gilgandra Services Club, with cup day to be held on the public holiday. It is a full showcase meeting with the $45,000 Gilgandra Cup, a $35,000 town plate, and the memorial races - featuring tributes to the late Kate Smith, Len Kelly and Bob Foran. The cup day will also feature two ‘Country Booster’ races, meaning only country trainers can compete. “No city racers taking over!” laughed president of the Gilgandra Jockey Club, Jason Tate.
