Panthers prepare

As we wave goodbye to a forgettable 2021, the Panthers are preparing for a bumper 2022 with hopefully a return to some sort of normality.

With the 2021 season cut short just a week out from the semi-finals, it is expected that most players will be keen to shine the boots and get back to the field when the 2022 season rolls around.

The Panther committee are busy getting things in place and coaching staff has been announced.

Jamie Towney will be back in charge of the first grade squad and he is looking forward to meeting up with some new and returning faces when training commences on January 11.

Joe Wood and Kylie Louie have been welcomed back as co-coaches for the league tag side and as they put it, they have some unfinished business from the past season.

They also are keen to meet up with the girls from last season and hopefully some new recruits who want to come along to have some Saturday fun. The Panthers are also hopeful of putting a youth league side back on the paddock next season after not fielding a side in 2021.

The Castlereagh league will welcome Narromine into the competition next year, making it a 10 town comp and at the recent group annual general meeting all clubs indicated that they will be fielding sides.

The NSWRL have put together a proposed 14 round competition which would begin on April 30 and conclude with the grand final on September 2, 2022.

So, be good boys and girls and hopefully Santa will pay you a visit before training commences for everyone at McGrane soon.
