Kenny Naden remembered
In memory of Kenny Naden, a B-grade champion of Gilgandra Golf Club, a memorial golf day was held last week.

This was the second year running, and family
were able to get together and enjoy a day of golf in his
honour. One of Kenny’s sons, Matt Naden, said the family
had put in a bit more work this year, and were
impressed with the turn out. He said this is exactly how
his dad would have wanted to be remembered.
“He’s been gone for a while now, but this is to keep
his memory there, and an enjoyable day for everyone to
get together as well. Everyone can come together for a
golf day, rather than get together for funerals because
that’s normally when people get together,” said Matt.
“Dad used to be a member out here at the golf course and Dubbo golf course, B-grade champion back in the late 80s. So this is where he used to play, and we’re looking forward to continue having it as an annual day.”
Kenny’s family said the day wouldn’t have been possible without their sponsors. Most notably, Gilgandra Golf Club, and the Gilgandra Local Aboriginal Medical Service who purchased the shirts for the event. Wayne Mallison Painter and Decorator, Johnson’s Gourmet Butchery, Dubbo Golf Club, and Ronny Gibbs also helped make the day what it was, and Kenny’s family are beyond grateful.
