Junior basketballers shine in Wagga Wagga

Gilgandra's Lochy Nolan and Luke O'Neill travelled to Wagga Wagga on Friday, April 8, to play with the under 16 Western Region Academy of Sport (WRAS) basketball team in the Your Local Club Academy Games.

The WRAS team remained undefeated through the rounds and versed the South Sports Academy in the grand final. Despite a slow start and being behind at half time the WRAS team came back to win 57-50.

More than 1300 athletes attended the games which featured seven sports including basketball hockey, netball, and triathalon. Lochy and Luke are to be commended for their efforts and Gilgandra Basketball Association are very proud of their achievements.
