Gilgandra Windmills play in U16s Indigenous round
Gilgandra Junior Basketball

Basketball NSW hosted an Indigenous
Round for the Western Junior
League’s third weekend that was played
on April 1–2.
This included the Gilgandra
Windmill under 16s Boys’ team travelling
to Bathurst and facing four tough
games over the weekend for a spot in the
finals.
Despite working hard all weekend —
including a 100-55 win over West
Wyalong Silver in their first match —
Gilgandra lost their next three games,
placing them 10th on the ladder and ineligible
for finals.
Game results:
Game one: Gilgandra Windmills won
100–55 versus West Wyalong Silver.
Game two: Gilgandra Windmills lost
to Narrandera Knights 104-85.
Game three: Gilgandra Windmills
lost 68–75 to the Dubbo Rams.
Game four: Gilgandra Windmills lost
61–104 to the Leeton Eagles Green.
While their 2023 Western Junior
League journey may be over, the U16s
Boys’ team will continue training for the
John Martin Country Tournament in
June, when they will take-on country
teams from across the state.
