Gilgandra golf wrap

On Thursday we played the 2022 Veterans Open Tournament. There were 27 men and five ladies who played in the event.

Overall winner was Peter Holland.

Division one winner was Garry Mckenzie and runner-up was Marty Cross.

Division two winner was Nick Brennan from Dubbo and runner-up was Scott Macdougal from Trangie.

Ladies winner was Lyn Wong and runner-up was Maree Townsend, both Gilgandra members.

On Saturday an 18-hole stroke with 23 golfers was played in overcast, mild weather. The day was sponsored by Peter Fisk.

The winner was Russell Anderson with nett 67.

Second place was Stan Doyle with 68 nett.

Third on a countback was Don Milgate with a nett 69.

Marty Cross came in fourth and Ian Ferguson came in fifth.

Matchplay results for Saturday Garry McKenzie 3 and 1 defeated John McWhirter.

Mick Wilson defeated Todd Meyers on the 19th hole.

On Sunday an 18-hole par was played which was sponsored by Ross Spicer. Fifteen golfers played on the day.

Allan Lummis won the day with plus 3.

Bob Dwyer came in second with plus 2.

Geoff Lummis with plus 1 came in third.
