Gilgandra bowlers represent in District Triples and Fours
By Gilgandra Bowling Club

Over the past two weekends, the club has been
represented in the both the District Triples and
Fours in Narromine.
Garry Raines, Dylan Marchant, and Noel
Raines played in the triples and were unlucky to go
down by one shot, 22–21 in the semi-final against
a West Dubbo team.
These three bowlers returned last weekend to
play in the Districts Fours and, joining them on the
first day, was Brent McKenzie.
Due to Brent’s unavailability on Sunday, the lads
came back to town to find another bowler who
would be up to the task, being Jo Raines. This team also went down by only one shot in
the quarter finals against a Dubbo City team, 17–
16.
Wednesday Social bowls winners were Stacey
Reynolds and Larry Clark. They defeated Ted
Stewart and Mal Altmann, with the most ends and
a win 21–8, and 13–3 ends.
Pennant Bowls will commence next weekend
with Gil playing a home game against Gulgong in
the sevens. Teams that have been selected to play
in this event are as follows:
Matt Thompson, Tracey
Riley, David Duffy, and Danial Riley.
Christine Howchin, Larry Clarke, Tommy
Ledger, and Bob Dicks.
Shayne Barwick, Leroy Gregory, Baden Fisher,
and Gil Riley.
The sub is Bruce Parker.
These bowlers are to be at the club by 9.30am
for a 10 o’clock start.
The club will also be represented by a team in
the Grade Five Pennants and they will be advised
when and where their first game will be:
- Jo Raines, Barry Johnson, Blake Cook, and
Noel Raines.
- Maxine Elsom, Rod Howchin, Shaun
Marchant, and Dylan Marchant.
- Mal Altmann, Rambo Young, Brent McKenzie, and Garry Raines.
