Easter at the Gil Golfie
The golf club had a very good five days of golf over the Easter break.

The veterans played on Thursday
afternoon. The winner was Mark
Barwick with a nett 35. Geoff Lummis
came in second with a 36 nett, and
Peter Holland came in third with 36½
nett.
Geoff Mills won the average ball.
Mark Barwick won the putting competition
with 12 putts for his round.
On Good Friday we played the
Martin Clift Memorial four-person
Ambrose. We had 12 teams contest
the day.
The winning team was Allan
Lummis, Mick Davis, and Mark and
Aiden Hinchcliffe with a nett 53.
Second place went to Henry Johnson,
Will Morris, Graeme Holland,
and Ike Morris with 56 5/8 nett. Coming
third were Jarryd Eason, Steve
Masling, Jack Bradley, and Zac Mills
with a nett 56 7/8.
Fourth place went to Lyle and
Janelle Horwood, and Tony and
Jacob Wilson with a nett 57 1/8.
Nearest the pin winners were as

4/13 - Allan Lummis
7/16 - Marty Cross
Saturday we played a stableford
with 20 golfers taking part. The sponsors
were Rob and Barb Hay.
The winner was Mark Barwick
with 37 points. Second place went to
Allan Lummis with 36 points. John
McWhirter came in third on a countback
from Russell Anderson as both
players had 34 points.
Nearest the pin winners were as
follows:
4/13 - Peter Holland
7/16 - Graeme Holland
Matchplay results
Quentin Karaitiana conceded his
match against Peter Holland. Russell
Anderson five and four defeated
Andy Harris.
On Sunday we played an 18-hole
Stableford with seven golfers. The
winner was Rob Hay with 35 points,
Gladys Harvey came in second with
34 points. Geoff Mills won the
Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin as
he came within 1.39 meters of the
hole.
We played an 18-hole stableford
on Monday, we had 10 golfers. First
place went to Ike Morris with 38
points, Ike had an eagle on the 17th
hole.
Second place went to Mick
Wilson, he also had 38 points. Liam
Zell won the Gilgandra Toyota nearest
the pin.
Over the weekend we had 95 golfers play in the competitions.
