Bill Welsh secures Sunday’s Drumtochy Cup with nett 138
Veterans
John McWhirter won the Veterans on Thursday afternoon with a 30½ nett. Maree Townsend came in second with a nett 31½. Andy Harris in third with a nett 33½, he also won the nearest the pin. Mark Barwick won the average ball. Graeme Holland won the least amount of putts for his round, he had 11 putts for nine-holes.
Saturday’s Stableford
On Saturday we played an 18-hole stableford.
The winner was Ian Dent with 39 points. Ian
Lambell came in second with 38 points. Andy
Harr is again came in third on a three-way countback
from Graeme Holland and Todd Meyers; all
three players had 36 points.
Matt Zell won the Gilgandra Toyota nearest the
pin.
Matchplay results for Saturday:
Peter Fisk 2 and 1, defeated Jacob Wilson. Todd Meyers 3 and 2, defeated Rob Hay.
Sunday’s Drumtochy Cup
On Sunday we played the annual 36-hole
Drumtochy Cup, in very blustery weather for golf.
Bill Welsh won the day with a nett 138.
Lyle Horwood also had a nett 138 to come in
second.
Morning winners:
Nick Wright on a countback from Lyle Horwood;
both players had 66 nett.
Afternoon winners:
Bill Welsh had a nett 67.
Runner-up was John
McWhir ter nett 68.
Nearest the Pin:
Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin winner was
Bob Dwyer for the morning round.
Bill Welsh won the after noon round.
Matchplay results for Sunday:
Lyle Horwood 4 and 2, defeated Russell Anderson. Bill Welsh and Bob Dwyer won their match against Andy Harris on the 19th hole.
