The electorates of Monaro, Willoughby, Bega, and Strathfield were back at the polling booths last Saturday.

The by-elections were triggered fol- lowing the resignation of the former members for each of the above electoral districts. This includes the seat of Willoughby, previously held by former state premier Gladys Berejiklian. The coastal electorate of Bega has changed

hands, with Labor taking the seat for the first time. At the time of writing, in-per- son votes were still being counted.

Postal votes will begin to be counted from next Saturday, however, seats can be called before then. NSW residents will return to the polls at least once more this year. The federal election hasn’t been called yet however, the latest it can be held is Saturday, May 21, 2022.
