Tooraweenah Public School - December 20, 2022

Happy Holidays
It is hard to believe that the 2022 school
year is about to draw to a close. We are very
sad to be farewelling our year six students,
and wish them all the best for high school
next year.
Each of our year six students have all
made a positive contribution to the school
during their time here. After such a productive
and busy year, I would like to wish our
students, families, and the wider community,
a wonderful and Happy Christmas and holiday
period. School resumes in 2023 for all
students on Tuesday, January 31.
Presentation Night and Year Six Farewell
Our combined presentation night and year
six farewell, celebrated our student achievements
for 2022. The location of the event
at the Tooraweenah Showground, provided
a wonderful scenic outdoor setting
with views of the Warrumbungles. It was
wonderful to have students, staff, and parents
attend this event along with grandparents
and special guests including Western
Plains Director, Chris Jackson; Lester
Thurston; Gilgandra Shire Mayor, Councillor
Doug Batten; John Jenkin; Tanya Hutchison;
Beverley Pike; Jeanette Cruickshank; Craig
and Robin Dowsett; and Marie Jacobsen.
Our school captain, Indiana Brown, did a
wonderful job of being MC on the night.
Happy Packs for Euabalong West Public
School
Our students have also been busy fundraising and creating “happy packs” for each of the 18 students at Euabalong West Public School which was affected by the recent flooding. The village of Euabalong, is still isolated from Lake Cargelligo and residents have to travel to Cobar for groceries and other supplies. We hope that our happy packs are able to lift the spirits of the school community in the lead up to Christmas.
