Tooraweenah Preschool - December 20, 2022

Wonderful year at ends with fun concert

We have had such a wonderful time at Tooraweenah Preschool this year, with all of our lovely preschool friends doing so much together learning, experimenting, investigating, discovering, playing, and having fun. We have loved spending time with friends throughout the year, and we enjoyed our many adventures together.

We finished off our year with a spectacular concert at Tooraweenah Park on Friday, December 9, where we sang some songs, had a small presentation to the 14 friends going on to “big school” next year, and performed the lovely story “One Woolly Wombat”, followed by some dancing. The children had spent time making their concert crowns and everyone did a great job remembering the various actions. Our preschool friends are very good at dancing, and they loved dancing on the stage to “Moon Dance” and another favourite, “Hey Baby”.

We took everyone by surprise when we stopped it mid song, and then asked all our families and friends to stand-up and join in with us after we gave them a quick lesson on our dance moves! It sure was a lot of fun and everyone joined in. The coffee van and Tooraweenah Lions Club sausage sizzle was again popular, and we raised over $400 in our donations box for our flood appeal for the Eugowra Preschool. Our night concluded with Santa arriving on a truck (not the fire truck, which surprised everyone) with lights flashing and air horns sounding. Everyone knew that he had arrived, and he shared his Christmas cheer with our preschool friends and all the other children and friends in the crowd.

What a fabulous evening of fun for everyone there! We are grateful so many family and friends were able to come to our concert. We will miss our 14 preschool friends (and their families) who are starting school; however, we are very excited about and looking forward to further learning adventures and fun with returning friends, and some new friends too.

We can’t wait for next year, and we wish everyone a very safe, happy and Merry Christmas and a fun, relaxing and enjoyable summer school holiday break!
