Show of Flowers this weekend!
The popular local event, Show of Flowers, organised by Gilgandra’s Presbyterian Church is on again this Saturday.

This year’s event will feature the annual floral displays as well as a large garage sale with many plants, cooking, craft, and morning tea available. Church organisers said, “the Show of Flowers is for anyone who wishes to display their lovely blooms for everyone to enjoy”.
“This is not a full competition as in previous ‘flower show’ years. The Show of Flowers is open to keen gardeners, who have a lovely garden, and are happy to share the results of their efforts with others.
“If they wish to leave the flowers, they could then be sold as a donation to church funds.” Although there is not a formal entry process, there is still one competitive element to the Show of Flowers.
“There will be one competition, an arrangement of flowers, which will be authentically judged. “This can include any type of flowers - height, colour, in any type of vase or suitable container. Preferably one which can be sold. This judging is for ‘The Glad Rogers Memorial Trophy’, which was presented many years ago, to the Annual Presbyterian Flower Show, for the Best Arrangement of the day.
“There is no entry fee, come along enjoy the flowers, meet friends for morning tea, and perhaps find a Christmas present or two.”
