Garden Club to celebrate 25 years in big open day garden ramble
For all those budding
green thumbs, garden lovers and experts, the Gilgandra Garden Club is celebrating
its 25th anniversary with a special open garden day planned for this
Saturday the 14th of October. From 9:30am to 4pm eight residences
will exhibit their gardens and provide the community with a wonderful
opportunity to view a diverse selection of plant species, garden styles, and
landscapes.
The open garden day is also functioning as a fundraiser with a donation from the proceeds going to the Gilgandra and District Education Foundation. On the day attendees will receive a wrist band after paying their $10 which grants them access to all the gardens. Should visitors wish to enjoy a cup of tea and something to eat, or perhaps take some time to enjoy a meal, some of the locations are offering morning tea or lunch, also for a fee.
Started in 1998 the garden club the Gilgandra Garden Club was created to provide gardening enthusiasts in the region the opportunity to practice their love for growing and cultivating plants of all kinds while connecting with others through a shared interest. The inauguration of the club was a massive success with the first open day ramble attracting 400 people across two days, excited to view the 13 gardens on offer in Armatree, Collie, Tooraweenah, and Gilgandra.
