Only a few braved hot days of golf
Gilgandra Golf Club news
Last Thursday afternoon, we had 11 veterans
play a nine-hole stroke. The winner was Gil Riley
with a 34 nett. Second place went to Mark Barwick
with a 341⁄2 nett, with Maree Townsend coming-in
third with a nett 35.
Gladys Harvey won the average ball with Gil Riley also bagging the least amount of putts (12).
On Saturday in very hot weather, we had 21 golfers play an 18-hole stroke.
The winner was Marty Cross with a nett 65 for his round with Issac Frost from Dubbo coming in second place with 67 nett. Craig Wood came in third on a countback from Bob Dwyer, with both players on nett 71.
The Gilgandra Toyota nearest-the-pin was won by Bob Dwyer as he came very close to the hole.
It was a very disappointing turn-out for golf on Sunday in blistering conditions, and we only had seven golfers for an 18-hole par.
The winner on the day was Rob Hay with an even par round, Bill Welsh came in second with minus 1, and Andy Harris won the Gilgandra Toyota nearest-the-pin
