NRMA to shut shop in Gilgandra
In yet another vital service lost to the town, the NRMA office in Gilgandra will cease trading at the end of this month. This will mean that customers looking to visit a service centre in person, will have to travel to Dubbo.

The NRMA however, have stated that they have seen
a significant decline in people visiting their smaller
branches, including in Gilgandra, and have therefore
made the decision to close a number of stores.
When asked if this reduction had anything to do with COVID-19 lockdowns, an NRMA spokesperson said that the trend: “continued since COVID-19 lockdown restrictions were lifted and, unfortunately, we’ve had to close certain branches, including Gilgandra, so we can keep operating other sites as nearby as possible”.
Long-term proprietor and the friendly and familiar face at the Gilgandra outlet, Kathy Semmler, will be retiring after the closure.
“We’re grateful for the support of our Gilgandra proprietor, Kathy Semmler, and have thanked her for the service she’s provided our customers,” the NRMA spokesperson concluded.
