New plaques in time for ANZAC day

Five new plaques will go up on Gilgandra’s memorial wall in the memo- rial precinct, after family members have chosen to immortalise their service.

The new plaques include two women who served in the Australian Regular Army. Sgt Kim Maree Hiscox served from 1985 until 1997. Josephine Mary served from 1975 until 2004. The five people recognised are Dennis Michael O’Shannessy, Arthur Brown, Richard Henry Biggs (K.I.A), Kim Maree Hiscox, and Josephine Mary Dawson.

All people remembered on the wall served Australia from the 1899 Boer War to present day.
