New head of shred
Gilgandra has a new shredding expert, and he is ready to take on all your shredding needs.

Sam Hough
is now ‘head of shred’, after Carlginda Enterprises purchased a new shredding machine.
The industrial strength shredder is located at the Gilgandra Waste Facility. After the paper is shredded, it’s moved just a few metres to the right in the facility’s new press.
This press pumps out a 500-kilogram bale which will then go to Visy in Brisbane.
“They’re the biggest recycling company there is. And what goes to them as shredding comes out as paper and cardboard,” explained waste operations manager, Michael Hodge.
“It’s just something that works, and it gives Sam a good job, offering gainful employment.”
The shredder came alongside a new awning and press machine, after receiving grant funding through the NSW government’s Remanufacture NSW Grants Program - stream one infrastructure.
Mr Hodge is hoping to get local businesses on board their shredding initiative, and is looking forward to this expansion.
Details are outlined in the Gilgandra council advertisement, but entails a small fee per kilo for the pick up, secure storage, and disposal of documents.
Mr Hough is at the ready to handle all shredding needs, and is thrilled to be able to look after Gilgandra’s businesses.
