New apprentice Olivia joins Tingles

“I don’t know how I did it without her!” said Cynthia Anderson from Tingles Massage and Beauty, about her new apprentice Olivia Schier.

After apprenticing for Mrs Anderson for a month already, Miss Schier is loving her time learning the trade at Tingles.

“Cynthia is a great teacher, the people are very nice and very easy to get along with,” she said.

“I have always liked beauty and hair removal; I just think it’s nice to get pampered, and nice to make someone feel good about themselves.”

Miss Schier starts her three-year tafe course in July, and is excited about her head start to her career.

“I’ve been poking along and learning as much as I can and getting as many opportunities as I can. I’m not limiting myself, and I’m just doing everything I can.”

But the dream doesn’t stop at Tingles.

She has plans to eventually move to Europe, but is happy to bunker down and save while she can in Gilgandra.

“Eventually I would love to have my own business, but who knows. For now I’m just saving up for a car. So little steps!”

Employer Mrs Anderson is pleased with her apprentice, and is grateful for what she’s brought to the business in a short amount of time.

“She’s been going great guns!” said Mrs Anderson.

“She’s amazing, because she’s actually doing things and she’s organising me. It’s great to have the extra hands to organise and get things sorted, and clean up after me.”

Miss Schier plans on staying at Tingles for the next few years, and is looking forward to building a relationship with the business’ clients.
