Men’s Shed to support flood victims
After the support Gilgandra received during the drought, it’s time to give back.

Roy Duncan, member of
the Gilgandra Men’s Shed, wants to support our northern
neighbours who have been severely affected by
floods in recent weeks.
“Gilgandra received thousands of dollars during the
two or three years of bad drought from these places that
are now suffering, and I thought it was an opportune
time to make some contribution.”
The Men’s Shed will be at A Night Under the Gums
event this weekend to collect donations for flood affected
victims.
“I appreciate that by now some people have
already made some donation towards other organisations,
but I wanted to try and see that something actually
came from Gilgandra.”
All money donated will be
going through the Bendigo Bank flood disaster appeal
which is focusing on individuals and communities
affected by the floods in South East QLD and Northern
NSW.
Mr Duncan’s generous idea was inspired by the generosity
Gilgandra received from these areas during the
drought. Volunteers from the shed will be walking
around the event with advertising placards and buckets
so that those attending can make a contribution.
“I hope it’s a big one but that’s up to the hearts of the people at the time.”
