Local woman who “loves” friendly Gilgandra; one of three new citizens

A local woman who “loves” the welcoming atmosphere in Gilgandra, was one of three residents who recently took their Australian Citizenship during the Australia Day ceremony last week.

Yug Vyas, who’s family are co-owners of the Silver Oaks and Orana Windmill Motels in the region — as well as Jaimin Krupaben — were both welcomed as new Australians at the event.

“We are very thankful for Australia, they have welcomed us here, and it’s such an honour to be part of this community,” Mr Vyas said of the ceremony.

“Gilgandra has given us a big chance and opportunity, and we are very thankful for that,” she added.

Moving to Australia six years ago, the young family settled in Gilgandra last year, with no plans of leaving any time soon.

“We love the atmosphere in Gilgandra, it’s just amazing. We never thought we could get this in a small town,” Mrs Vyas enthused.
