The annual changeover dinner for the Lions Club of Gilgandra was held on July 15 at the Gilgandra Golf Club.

Outgoing president, Owen Prout, handed the batten over to new president, Mike Newstead.

Mr Prout gave a report of the previous year and spoke of the slow return to normality.

“As [COVID-19] restrictions eased, we were able to get back to our normal activities – bar work at the races and show, we also picked up barbeques at Australia Day, the tractor pull, under the gums night and several clearing sales. It’s good to see our barbeque trailer has been getting plenty of work,” said Mr Prout.

Visitors from Gulargambone and Tooraweenah were in attendance. The first vice district governor, Michael Ryan, and his wife, Judy Ryan, were special guests. Both were very pleased with Gilgandra’s hospitality, with special mention to Kath Waller’s cooking.
