Highly commended

“I was very honoured to even be nominated. When we got to the final five that was pretty exciting, and to get highly commended was wonderful,” said business owner Megan O’Connor.

Mrs O’Connor’s business caters to specific wants and needs of the party, rather than providing set menus.

“I like to work with what the bride and the groom and their families would like and what they like to eat. Catering to their taste,” said Mrs O’Connor.

“It probably would be easy to have a website with a set out menu and people can go in and go one, two, three or four, but some people don’t like chicken, some don’t like fish.

“I just think it makes things a little more personal for their special day.”

Food and catering for people is a passion of Mrs O’Connor’s, and she is humbled to be recognised for her hard work.

“You don’t need a five-star venue you have an incredible wedding and I think people are recognising that.”

The awards were presented over zoom, as NSW was still in lockdown at the time.
