DFYM LEGO® Club
Inspired by the amazing fireworks at this year’s
Gilgandra Show, our DFYM (Designs From Your
Mind) LEGO® Club builders recreated the fireworks
display. Many builders were enthusiastic
about using motors to create fireworks that would
spin, while others created colourful 3D displays of
fireworks in the sky. All our incredible builds are on
display in the library. DFYM is a fun program that
once a week after school and is suitable for children
aged five years and over. The number of participants
per session is limited, so bookings are
essential.
Tech Club
There was a mixture of LEGO® and technology
last week at the library, as our participants learned
how to ‘be computers and coders’ at Tech Club.
After building mazes with bricks, the coders had to
‘program’ their figurine to move through it, giving
positional and movement directions. The difficulty
increased as the session progressed, with coders
adding ‘repeat’ as well as ‘if…then…or’ instructions
to make their code shorter and provide concise
instructions. Tech Club is a fun, free program that
runs once a week after school, and is suitable for
children aged eight to 12 years.
Tech Savvy Seniors
The latest season of Tech Savvy Seniors began
last week, thanks to Telstra and the NSW government.
Once a week, throughout May, we’ll be helping
people to master their phone or tablet.
Point Blank Writers’ Group
Point Blank Writers’ Group will meet soon. Point
Blank Writers’ Group have a writing workshop at
every meeting, and we enjoy sharing stories and a
love of writing. New members are always welcome.
Baby Rhymetime

At Baby Rhymetime we sing, rhyme and read, and there is plenty of laughter and fun along the way. Baby Rhymetime is for babies and young toddlers and their carers, and bookings are essential as places are limited.
