Baby Rhyme Time

Last week, we enjoyed our final session of Baby Rhyme Time for the year. It has been delightful to meet you and your babies, and to see how quickly your babies are growing and learning.

That Christmas Feeling - Colouring Competition

To celebrate Gilgandra’s Christmas book for 2022 the delightful That Christmas Feeling by Lili Wilkinson and Amanda Francey we recently held a colouring competition. We hope you enjoyed reading that Christmas feeling. We had 84 gorgeous pictures of shortbread the dog and his Christmas tree on display last week.

Designs From Your Mind LEGO® Club

The last session of DFYM LEGO® for the year was full of emotion as we farewelled our longestparticipating builder who has attended DFYM since it was conceived in 2017 and who is off to high school next year. We will miss his imaginative and technical builds, his guidance and assistance with our younger builders, and his amazing sense of humour, but we wish him all the best for his verybright future. To farewell our friend, DFYM threw a party complete with Christmas crackers, fun LEGO® games, relays, and builds. There was lots of laughter as we raced, crashed, and threw bricks around the library. A surprise was unveiled at the end; special cupcakes with a fondant LEGO® brick on the top. These were very creative and delicious, we wish our builders and families a “Happy Holidays”.

Help to get your 2023 Seniors Travel Card

A new Regional Seniors Travel Card will become available from January. Service NSW is partnering with the library to help seniors apply for their 2023 RSTC Card and for the Savings Finder Program. Tamara Francis from Service NSW, will be at the library to offer one to one help with applications.

Borrow books, and have a staff member stamp, your bookmark. Listen to or read 10 books over the holidays, and you will receive a reward. Take another bookmark and keep reading, and you will also go into the draw for one of 20 “Book Connection” book vouchers, provided by North Western Library. The Summer Reading Club is open to young people from zero–18 years. Happy reading!

Holiday Activities

Starting from January, we will have a range of fun holiday activities, including LEGO® Club, Tech Club (featuring Spheros robots) and science at the library. Bookings are essential for all of these activities, as places are limited. We hope you have a wonderful holiday!
