Point Blank Writers’ Group

Do you like to write? You are wel- come to join our writers’ group. Held once a month, on a Saturday after- noon, this friendly group is for adults with a love of words and writing.

We have a writing workshop at every meeting, and we share stories and laughter. This month, we will be writing about our memories.
Telstra Tech Savvy Seniors

Last week at Tech Savvy Seniors sessions, everyone continued to learn about emails, using phones, tablets, and laptops. There was time for plenty of questions and problem solving.

These sessions are thanks to a partnership with Telstra, the state government, and the State Library of NSW, and are for people with little or no prior experience with technology. While our current sessions are full, we have a waiting list for future ses- sions.

After-school activities

The library has two fun after- school activities for children every week.

The first is Designs From Your Mind LEGO® Club, held every Tuesday afternoon.

This session is for children aged five to 12 years, with a few LEGO® challenges to get everyone creating, and free time to build with the library’s great range of kits.

The other activity is Code Club, held every Thursday afternoon.

At Code Club, we have fun with technology of all kinds. We program animations and games, we do 3D printing, we code Spheros, and have fun with simple electronics or Turing Tumbles.

Code Club is for young people aged 10 years and over. Places are limited in both programs, so book- ings are essential.
