Final week of the Reading Passport Competition

Congratulations to everyone who has already completed the Reading Passport Challenge. We have been so pleased to see everyone enjoying time spent reading! This is the final week of the competition, so please bring your completed passports back soon, so you can collect your certificate and your reward.

DFYM LEGO® Club

Memories were put to the test at DFYM (Designs From Your Mind) LEGO® Club last week, as our builders had to recreate - from memory - a build that our librarian leader created. After looking at the build for a minute, the builders had to find the same pieces and place them in the exact same position on their own board. Not surprisingly, our builders have great memories, and their recreations were excellent!

The second challenge was an engineering one, building a machine that could help rescue a minifigure from a volcano. There were many ideas, from cranes to motorised swings, flying motorbikes (with jet- packs) to ladders built from technic pieces. The builders were creative and inventive, and saved our minifigure from danger.

Tech Club

Sphero robots are a popular tech- nology at Tech Club, with our partici- pants loving controlling the robots and creating games to play with them. Robotics at Gilgandra Library encourages problem solving, creative thinking, teamwork, and imaginative play. Our coders create elaborate sto- ries and scenarios for their Sphero robots! This week we will be begin- ning a unit on film making, so come along and join us! Tech Club is held once a week, after school, and is suitable for children aged eight and over.

Baby Rhymetime

We were lucky to be joined by some beautiful parents and babies for Baby Rhymetime recently. We hope you enjoyed all the rhymes, songs, and stories.
