Gilgandra Public School - March 22
Classroom news

Grandparents’ Day
This year Gilgandra Public School welcomes
everybody to celebrate our grandparents’
assembly next week. Parents/carers
and grandparents will still need to sign into
the school hall with the school check-in app
and hand sanitise.
We look forward to seeing
everybody.
Symphonia Jubilate Outback
Students who are well along the music
learning path and those wishing to make a
start are invited to learn about music making,
join an ensemble, experiment with
sound, sing, clap, move and play instruments.
The bush needs a beginner, intermediate
and advanced youth orchestra which
will strengthen bonds between young people,
inspire excellence in music making and
support those families who value and pursue
music making.
Fundraising for flood affected schools
Through the Primary Principals’ Association, Gilgandra Public School will be partnered with a school on their way to recovery from flood affected NSW to support them by raising funds and to provide a hand in any way our school can.
The SRC have
been busy organising a special lunch pack
to be purchased by students, an out of uniform
day and the sale of Easter eggs on the
day of our Easter hat parade across the last
week of school to support the fundraising
efforts.
Certificate of Excellence
The Regional North and West School
Performance Executive Director Lisa Muir
has recognised every one of the 270
schools across the North-West Directorate
with a Certificate of Excellence for their agility,
clarity, enthusiasm, drive, and absolute
dedication through the past two years of
fires, floods, mouse plagues, droughts and
COVID-19.
This spirit and unexpected
strength have come from the courage, collegiality
and resilience of students, parents,
teachers, and principals across the North-
West Directorate.
The award was presented
at assembly on Friday to the school captains
Sam Chandler and Skyla Carr and will be
hung in the school foyer.
