Gil local makes speedway history

Racing for about 17 years, the race held last week on March 19, will definitely be one of Mr Holmgreen’s most memorable.

“This was the second meeting since the new $70 million speedway was built to replace the old one in Parramatta, and it was the first-time production sedans raced in it for our division,” said Mr Holmgreen.

“It has been pretty exciting, I am stoked. It took a bit to settle in, but I am very happy for myself.

“I have been racing since I was about 15, but this one is the most memorable as it goes in the history books for future people to read.”

The 15-lap feature race was touch and go whether or not it was going to be raced due to the rain.

However the track eventually got going again, and the Gilgandr-ian was a very proud winner.
