Year six and their buddies

Thursday, March 10 was an exciting day for year six and kindergarten students because they were able to meet their buddies. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we haven’t been able to combine the two classes until now. Year six students joined kindergarten in their classrooms.

They were introduced to their buddy and were able to participate in different activities together such as reading, drawing, and playing games. After the activities in the classroom, they moved to the grassed area outside and shared a yummy picnic together which included a cupcake and some fruit.

There was lots of laughs and chatter amongst the group, and year six were able to interview their buddy student and find out as much as they can about them.

Burn Bright

On Tuesday, March 8, year five/six students participated in Burn Bright program.

Burn Bright is a program that helps young Australian’s flourish and understand that they can make a difference in the world. By equipping them with the ability to support their wellbeing and build positive relationships, they are encouraged to become active participants, creating positive impact on the world and those around them.

Students attended the program at the Gilgandra Youth Centre and enjoyed a sausage sandwich and morning tea together.
