Christmas Wonderland
Following on from ‘A Winter Wonderland’ in 2019, ‘Christmas Night Markets’ 2020, and ‘Bendigo Bank Gilgandra Bonanza Day’ 2021, a new community event a ‘Christmas Wonderland’ is set to be held next week.

A Christmas Wonderland seeks to embrace
the Christmas spirit of kinship and connectivity
as Miller Street is lit up for an evening of grazing,
shopping, and rejoicing.
Activation and communications manager,
Kathryn Larkin says this is an exciting community
initiative for the region.
“The event is focused on bringing the community
together to reflect on the year that was,
celebrate the festive season, and support our
local businesses by shopping locally.
“We thank the economic development committee
for their support and involvement. It’s
been great to see so many local businesses and
community groups put their hands up to be a part
of this event.
“We continue to encourage local
businesses, community groups and individuals
to participate and get involved! All ideas, initiatives,
activations, and activities are welcome!”
said Mrs Larkin.
The twilight event includes full road closure
of Miller Street, late night shopping and special
offers, a major Shop Local draw (entrants must
be present on the night to win), Gilgandra CWA
Markets, activities for the children by Gilgandra
Youth Services, a visit from Santa, live entertainment,
face painting, and so much more.
There will be a great listing of local stall holders selling goods on the night, including pots, plants, succulents, and fashion. The event is being held with support from NSW government funding opportunity to host an event as part of the state-wide Reconnecting Regional NSW – Community Events program which seeks to support economic and social recovery in our local centres
