Belinda Moeris
International Women's Day

Belinda Moeris is a Gilgandra local who is in
partnership with a farming, contracting, and
trucking business. Growing up, Mrs Moeris had
lots of acres to explore, with sheep work and
farm duties to keep her busy.
“I always knew what I had a passion for. It’s in our blood, there’s a long history of it in the Mudford [maiden name] family,” said Mrs Moeris. She loves her work, and loves doing a bit of everything.
“There’s farm work and office work that I am doing, and I don’t mind doing either. I love learn- ing new things. It’s great there’s difference courses online and newsletters to stay on top of everything.”
Agriculture is something Mrs Moeris is passionate about, and “doesn’t let the male side of things get in the way”.
“We have two children, a boy and a girl, and we will encourage them both equally in the agri- cultural industry if that is something they want to do, unlike generations before them.”
However, while Mrs Moeris may be leading the way, there are still setbacks that frustrate her. “Sometimes stores or industry special shops don’t think I know what I’m talking about. Even though I know exactly what I’m looking for, I know the exact part I need, they still think I’m wrong.”
Mrs Moeris encourages everyone who wants to go into the agricultural industry to give it a crack.
