All roads lead to the museum

An extension of the Windmill Walk, from the Coo-ee Heritage Centre to the Gilgandra Museum, will begin construction within the next few weeks.

“Having this new pathway will encourage more visitors to the museum, and provide easy access for anyone in town,” said Gilgandra Historical Society president, Max Zell.

“The caravaners might get up in the morning and say, let’s go have a look over there at the museum, and they have an easy walk to get to it.”

New fences surrounding the museum will also be installed in due course, providing convenient accessibility for car parking, and walk-in visits. The project has been funded through the ‘local roads and community infrastructure’ program, which is a federal government fund. With construction being undertaken by local Central West Machining and Engineering, Mr Zell is thrilled by the prospects the addition will have.

Mr Zell is excited that the new path will create better access between the Coo-ee Heritage Centre and the Gilgandra Museum.
