New Armatree ram sale
New Armatree Border Leicester’s 13th on property ram sale reached $8000 for their top-priced flock ram.

The sale, held on September 9, sold all 110 rams on offer to mostly flock ram buyers.
There were over 100 registered bidders, 40 who showed on the day, with a further 70 online through AuctionPlus.
“It was an amazing sale. I think it’s a reflection of the industry at the moment. Border leicester rams are in short supply and people are rebuilding their merino numbers, combined with the prices of first-cross ewes, this has resulted in the extraordinarily high prices being paid,” said stud owner, Jenny Bradley.
“Border leicester numbers haven’t increased within the industry, so they are at a shortage. Generally, all border leicester sales have been nearly double on their average from their last sale. It comes back to that supply and demand situation.”
New Armatree’s super border leicester rams sold for an average of $4938.
